5th Annual Veterans' Day Ceremonies Held at Iowa Veterans Ceremony

This was the scene at the Iowa Veterans cemetery in Van Meter, as the sacrifices of Iowa soldiers past and present were recognized.
Monday marked the 5th Veterans Day ceremony held at the cemetery.
The site in Van Meter was dedicated in 2008.
Ultimately, it will provide burial space for up to 80-veterans and their dependents.
Governor Branstad was on hand to offer his thanks on behalf of Iowans everywhere. "To all the veterans who are with us today, and to their families and their survivors, I want to say a sincere thank you on behalf of the people of the state of Iowa," said the governor. OR
