Another Candidate Enters City Council Race

A former longtime Sioux City police officer and a longtime member of the Sioux City School Board are running for a spot on the City Council.

Retired Sioux City police Captain Pete Groetken, a nearly 40-year veteran of the department, is seeking one of the three seats on the council that are up for election.

There are also reports that longtime school board member Doug Batcheller has also filed papers with the city clerk to run.

Other candidates include incumbent Keith Radig, attorney Dan Moore, and Maria Rundquist.
