The Onawa mother convicted last month of killing her son has heard her sentence.
Ashley Cameron was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment resulting in death.
Prosecutors claim she ran water into the mouth of her 15-month-old son Markis Dahms until he drowned in February of 2012.
The involuntary manslaughter charge carried a mandatory 50 year sentence with the possibility of parole, but there is no minimum time she must serve, meaning the parole board could let her go at any time.
The child endangerment charge carries a two year sentence which will be served concurrently. Cameron has almost completed that sentence when you include time already served.
