You might call it a unique fundraiser for people with sophisticated tastes.
It was the blues combined with bacon, lots of bacon at McCarthy and Bailey's tonight in Sioux City.
This "Bacon and Blues" event helped raise money and awareness for the Pier Center for Autism, which provides services for Siouxlanders with autism. "We know there are dozens of more families and hundreds of individuals in the region who need the services offered by the Pier Center. And we hope that we're able to expand our programs so that we can serve more families in the future," said Paul Olson with the Pier Center. Along with the music, the chefs at McCarthy and Bailey's served various pork dishes including bacon wrapped pork loin medallion sliders, shredded pork belly over buttermilk biscuits, bacon and peppered popcorn and chocolate covered bacon.
