(SIOUX CITY, IA) Woodbury County, Iowa, has millions of reasons to look forward to a local business expansion. CF Industries is about to break a record for the largest capital investment in the state at $1.7 billion.
CF is hoping to expand its Port Neal fertilizer manufacturing facility, including development of a new rail spur and an access road to the expansion. The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors gave its approval Thursday afternoon to the plan that would bring 100 permanent direct jobs and millions in tax dollars to the area.
Governor Terry Branstad, Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds and Iowa Economic Development Director Debi Durham made the project official:
"Creating new jobs and raising family incomes are two of my administration's top priorities. This project and the jobs and the investment it brings to Iowa is just what we need in order to reach our goal of growing this state's economy," says Iowa Governor Terry Branstad.
CF Industries CEO Steve Wilson joined Erika Thomas and Jordan Furbee live on the set of Siouxland News at 5 for an exclusive interview about the expansion. For more on CF, check out http://www.cfindustries.com/.
