City Council Delays Action on Sioux City Hotel Proposal
SIOUX CITY, IA —
This afternoon the City Council was scheduled to take action that would help renovate the downtown Sioux City hotel, but that's now been put off for two more weeks.
Conor Acquisitions plans to buy the hotel for $4 million and spend $6.5 million for upgrades.
The council was supposed to consider refunding a million dollars to Conor for construction costs, and rebate the first $400-thousand in new property tax revenue.
City Economic Development Director Marty Dougherty asked for the delay, as the attorneys for both sides haven't been able to work out all the details yet.
