SIOUX CITY, IA — Congressman Steve King was back in Sioux City Thursday night and he was accompanied by conservative author Michelle Malkin.The pair headlined King's annual Defenders of Freedom fundraising dinner at the Stoney Creek Inn in Sioux City.The event was emcee'd by former Senate candidate and current candidate for Iowa Treasurer Sam Clovis, with Malkin delivering the keynote speech.King spoke during his remarks about the crisis at the border."We're spending six-million dollars a mile of every mile of the two thousand mile border to watch people come across into the United States and give them a permission slip to come and stay here," said King.King is running for a 7th term in the House this year against Democrat Jim Mowrer of Boone.
