DIXON COUNTY, NE — UPDATE: In a press release, the Dixon County sheriff's Office reports that the pilot of the Robinson R44 helicopter was Dennis Monday, 56, from Weyers Cave, VA. The pilot advised deputies that he flew into a pocket of air which caused the sudden drop in altitude and collision with a power line. Monday has been treated and released from the hospital. Further investigation will be conducted. Previous Story: A helicopter crash in Northeast Nebraska knocked out power to several Dixon County communities Thursday. According to the Dixon County Sheriff's Office, a crop-dusting helicopter crashed in a field near Allen, NE after clipping some power lines. The severed lines knocked out power from Concord and Allen, all the way to Ponca. The pilot of the helicopter survived the crash and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City with non-life threatening injuries. His name has not been released.
