Some Siouxland students got the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to throw a pie in their teacher's face!
Eight teachers and a principal lined up against a firing squad of students in Hinton. This was their reward for nearly doubling their goal of raising $3,500 dollars for the "Jump-Rope for Heart" campaign.
Sixteen students were guaranteed to put a pie in the face of the teacher of their choice. Those students each raised $100 or more. Fourteen more students were chosen randomly to participate as well.
"This year was their 35th anniversary, and my first year teaching. So I really wanted to take it and run with it and try to do as best job as I could. And they just exceeded my expectations," said Molly Boeve, a P.E. teacher at Hinton Elementary who organized this year's campaign. "It just went really well... they just ran with it and I couldn't be prouder. I was a little nervous. One of the first things I'm gonna explain is to...maybe just do it gently."
Though the first-year bar was set high, Boeve hopes the program will get bigger and better each year.
