Sheriff Releases Names Of Two Bodies Found In Akron

The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department announced that they are now investigating a double homicide that occurred at a home in the 17200 block of 180th street in Akron Iowa. The bodies of a male and a female were discovered around 10:45pm Wednesday evening when officers arrived at the home. Investigators are now looking for a person of interest in this case he has been identified as Jonathan Donald Neunaber. The preliminary investigation indicates that the bodies may have been there for several weeks. Stay tuned for detail on this developing investigation.

UPDATE: July 11, 2014 9:45 AM... The Plymouth County Sheriff has released the names of the two individuals found deceased: Donald John Neunaber, 83 and Esther Grace Neunaber, 80. The bodies have been transported to Ankeny to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy later today. Investigators are continuing to process the scene of the deaths and hope to complete that part of the investigation by late afternoon.

The Plymouth County Sheriff and Plymouth County Attorney's Office will be working on arrangements to have Jonathan Neunaber transported back to Plymouth County. He has not been charged with any crime and is being held as a material witness.

UPDATE 11:15 P.M. Jonathan Neunaber has been located and taken into custody in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is being held in the La Crosse County Jail without bond, awaiting extradition to Iowa to face questioning in Plymouth County.
