SIOUX CITY, IA — Drivers of electric cars have a new charging option on Sioux City's north side. The new Hy-Vee Mainstreet on Pierce Street now features a charging station for electric vehicles. It was installed last month, and people can access it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The store is only the fourth Hy-Vee to install a charging station. Store director, Darin Turner said, "Our store is a Leed store, L. E. E. D. leading in energy, efficiency development, and so that's part of that, strategy, in those staged of the store that's built that way." There are only two other charging stations in the Sioux City metro, one at Billion Nissan on Singing Hills Drive and one at City Hall in South Sioux City.
