Kids at Liberty Elementary took some time out of class this morning to sell some lemonade. Summer school classes at Liberty took part in the Lemonade Days fundraiser for the Children's Museum of Siouxland this morning. The students learned about service, what a community is, how to give back to the community, and most importantly, how to make a good cup of lemonade. Teachers say the experience is good for the kids5th grade teacher Donny Short said, "It's something that's really special, it's a great opportunity for our students to get involved in the community that surrounds them and something that's going to eventually benefit them in the long run."
The West High School girls basketball team came out to help, sitting down with the kids to read to them and promote reading.
