"Lone Survivor" Soldier to Headline Chamber Dinner
SIOUX CITY, IA — A former Navy SEAL is coming to Siouxland. Earlier today, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce announced the keynote speaker for its annual dinner. Marcus Luttrell, better known as the "Lone Survivor," is making his way to Sioux City on Monday, September 29th. "In the process of discerning and considering various speakers, we have recognized that this is a community that recognizes those who have served in uniform," said Chamber of Commerce President Chris McGowan. "We think that this will be a very thought provoking and compelling speaker. We think our community will be very, very excited to hear directly from Marcus Luttrell. Many people will be familiar with the bestselling book and many people have seen the movie. We think people will be excited to hear from him directly as our keynote speaker." Luttrell is a decorated Navy SEAL and New York Times bestselling author. He was portrayed by Mark Wahlburg in the blockbuster film, "Lone Survivor." He'll be telling the story of operation Redwing, when 4 seals ventured into the mountainous border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Reservations are available for chamber members at 80 dollars per ticket and 95 dollars for non-members.
