SIOUX CITY, IA — Sioux City's riverboat casino may be running out of options to stay afloat. The Argosy Casino was ordered to shut down July 1st, but it's owner, Penn National Gaming, requested the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission reconsider its case. The IRGC rejected that motion this week, by allowing the deadline for a rehearing to pass. Meanwhile, Penn has announced that the Argosy's General Manager, Lance George, is leaving the casino for a new racing and gaming venue in Massachusetts.Earlier this month, the casino issued a legal notice to workers that they will be terminated July 1st, unless the company can get a judge to intervene.Penn still has lawsuits pending against both the holder of the county's lone gambling license, Missouri River Historical Development and the IRGC.
