McCook Lake Rep. Patty Miller Resigns

South Dakota is looking for nominations to fill a Siouxland legislative seat left empty by McCook Lake's Patty Miller.

Miller has resigned from her District 16 spot in the South Dakota House of Representatives for personal reasons.

She started her political career in 2011.

That region includes Union County, and southeastern Lincoln County, including the cities of Worthing, Canton, Beresford and Hudson.

Gov. Dennis Daugaard will appoint Miller's replacement, and is asking the public to nominate candidates.

Those wishing to offer nominations should contact Will Mortenson in the Office of the Governor at 605-773-5999.

Nominations should include the candidate's name, current address, telephone number, and relevant background information.

The Governor expects to fill the vacancy by the late spring or early summer.
