Mitt Romney Is Coming to Orange City

(ORANGE CITY, IA) Mitt Romney is coming to Orange City, tomorrow. And the excitement is building at Northwestern College.

With Mitt Romney scheduled to speak here at Northwestern College, in less than 24 hours, students here are getting revved up and ready to go

"I'll be in line right away at 10 A.M. with my friends, so, it's very very exciting. It's also very exciting to see all of this; it's gets you more pumped," says Rachel Van Gorp, student at Northwestern College.

That enthusiasm filled the air, as volunteers from Northwestern College whipped out the paint brushes and poster boards to make signs for Romney's arrival.

"It's just really a great opportunity just to see him and to see, to hear him speak about the issues, and what's going on in our world and what he hopes to do in the future," Van Gorp says.

When it comes to those issues, Shawn McCoy, the Iowa Communications Director for the Romney Campaign says Romney's business record is worth noting.

"Governor Romney's business background is very important to us in this election. He has decades of experience, turning around companies, getting them going," he said.

On Friday this gym may look put together, but getting to that point can be stressful. Just ask the Co-Chairman of the Plymouth County Republican Party, because he's done this before.

"As you can see, there's an incredible amount of organization and pre-planning to go with something like this. Looking around at all the volunteers we have and all the young people we have helping out, its very exciting to be able to have this here in the northwest Iowa area," says Don Kass.

Tickets may still be available tomorrow morning at the Rowenhorst Student Center front desk. We'll have live coverage of the event on KMEG 14 News.
