Haddock Memorial Finds New Home In Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, IA —
The Haddock memorial had to be moved because of construction at the new Hard Rock Casino on 4th water streets.
The same spot where Reverend George Haddock was murdered in 1886.
A memorial to him was put in back in 1937.
Now it's been moved. It'll be cleaned up and put on display at the Sioux City Public Museum.
"There are a couple of options out there, but the plan is to have the marker on display again," said Sioux City Museum Director Steve Hansen. "So it's not going to into storage."
After a stay at the museum, the memorial might be put back up on the outside of one of the casino's walls.
