LE MARS, IA — Johnathan Neunaber has entered a written plea of not guilty in the death of his mother, Esther. Neunaber entered the plea through a written arraignment on Wednesday in Plymouth County District Court. Neunaber remains in the Plymouth County jail on $100,000 bond. Previous Story: An arraignment hearing has been set for Jonathan Neunaber, who was charged yesterday with murdering his mother last month. Neunaber will appear in Plymouth County District Court on Monday, August 18th to enter a plea to the charge of first degree murder in the death of his 80-year-old mother, Esther. The bodies of Esther Neunaber and her husband Donald were found in their rural Akron home July 9th. Jonathan was arrested in Wisconsin the next day as a material witness, and returned to Iowa for questioning. He was charged with his mother's death after police say he admitted to the crime.
