Neunaber Charged With Murder
AKRON, IA — UPDATE: According to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office, they received a warrant of arrest for Jonathon Donald Neunaber Thursday morning. Neunaber has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree. A complaint and affidavit was filed with the court by Plymouth County Attorney Darin Raymond. It states that deputies were summoned to a residence at 17279 180th Street, Akron, Iowa where they discovered the remains of Esther Grace Neunaber. The Office of the State Medical Examiner determined the cause of death as homicide. Jonathon Neunaber admitted to investigators that he willfully, deliberately and with premeditation caused the death of Esther Neunaber. Neunaber was served the Murder warrant in the Plymouth County Correctional Facility. Bond has been set at $100,000. Previous Story: A detention hearing has been set for Jonathon Neunaber on Aug 4th at the Plymouth County District Court. Neunaber was taken into custody in La Crosse, Wis., after Donald and Esther Neunaber were found dead in Akron, IA. Jonathon Neunaber continues to be held at the Plymouth County Correctional facility on a material witness warrant under no bond. He has not been charged with a criminal offense. PREVIOUS STORY: The Plymouth County Sheriff's Office transported the vehicle Jonathon Neunaber was driving when arrested in La Crosse, Wisconsin to the DCI Crime Unit lab in Des Moines for processing on Thursday and then to Plymouth County where it is being held. The Iowa Medical Examiners Office has officially determined the manner of death of Esther Neunaber to be homicide. Results of Donald Neunaber's autopsy has yet to be determined. A memorial service for the couple will be held in Akron on Saturday.
