SIOUX CITY, IA — The Sioux City City Council has approved a new housing development in Morningside. The so-called Eagle Ridge development will be built on land near Whispering Creek Golf Course on Old Highway 141 and Glenn Ellen Road just outside of current city limits. At last night's meeting, the Council approved expanding city limits to include the development, which could add as many as 2 hundred and ninety homes. Concerns about traffic safety and access for emergency crews had delayed the approval of the plan, but a revised site plan solved those issues. Developer Brian Peterson says he hopes to begin construction soon.
