The finishing touches on a long project, that's exactly what's happening at the Hard Rock Casino Hotel. "Let me take you back in time," said Hard Rock G.M. Todd Moyer. "June, it rained 17 days in June. I think we had 15 or 16 inches of cumulative rain. It was tough for us to get out here at the Backyard landscaped and grass planted and all the vegetation and stuff to grow." The Hard Rock Casino in downtown Sioux City has been open a little less than a month. But one part of the project has still been under construction. Now, the new concert venue the Backyard opens tomorrow night" The Labor Day weekend fun in the Backyard kicks off with a country concert on Thursday and finishes its opening weekend with an admission free BBQ event on Sunday. Moyer said this is just the start of things to come, "We're starting with this Labor Day weekend. We have 4 shows, a dozen bands or more in just those 4 days. We just can't wait for you to see this experience. You're under the stars outside and there's no better place to see a rock show than that." For anyone interested in the weekend's festivities, plenty of tickets are still available. "Yeah, we absolutely have tickets available," said Moyer. "You can hit-up our website at hardrockcasinosiouxcity.com or stop by the Rock Shop and purchase them in person. We do have some awesome seats left for the Goo-Goo Dolls & Daughtry on Saturday."
