Remembering Jeff Davenport

Thursday night family, friends, colleagues and students gathered to remember of a beloved teacher and photographer.

Jeff Davenport died suddenly at his home Monday. For years the 59 year old Davenport had been a substitute teacher at South Sioux City and was best known for the many years he chronicled life at the school.

Davenport, who was known as "Dav" by the kids, was a 1975 graduate of South Sioux City. He worked at Harold's Photography for years and used the experience he gained to paint a picture of everyday life for students. He also did photography for the local colleges and the Bandits football team.

A funeral service for Jeff Davenport is Friday morning at 11 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Jackson.
