The Stage is Almost Set for Saturday in the Park

(SIOUX CITY, IA) The stage is almost set for Saturday in the Park! The event is set to kick off at noon on Saturday at Grandview Park.

This is the 23rd year for the music festival. You can see acts like ZZ Ward, Sublime with Rome, and headliner Melissa Etheridge followed by fireworks to wrap up the night.

Crews have been working since Monday to get the stage set up. During the next few days workers will be installing the stage, lights, fencing and getting the beer garden ready.
And best of all, the event is free.

"It is kind of almost a community homecoming to a point," says Dave Bernstein. "We need to keep that free. It only works I think if it is free, if all of a sudden we were charging $25 to $30 to get in, it would be a whole different event. So, it takes a community. It is so far beyond, it's the volunteers, it's the committee, it's the sponsors, it's way beyond a couple people to put it on, it takes all of us. I think that is what is great about doing it here. I think it would be harder doing it in a lot of other places but Siouxland is a great place."

People attending the festival are asked to keep the coolers, umbrellas and pets at home. Sioux City Transit will be shuttling people from the Tyson Events Center parking lot to Grandview Park.
Adults will be charged $1.80 one-way or $3.60 for a round trip. Students ages 18 and younger are free and senior citizens will be charged $.90 one-way or $1.80 round trip.
