A ribbon was cut and a round of applause followed. It was all part of a busy afternoon at Sioux City's only Army Recruiting Center. The recruiting center is partnering with the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce in the hopes that local business leaders can help the cause.
"The partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, I found that it would be beneficial to have an access to business and community leaders. I really wanted to spread the Army's network," said Sergeant First Class Randy Stephens. The chamber works with businesses all across Siouxland and was especially excited to work our men and women in uniform.
"We will help promote those that are members of the chamber and it's just great exposure for them. We love to partner with any businesses and certainly people that do wonderful things like they do in the community," said Daphne Miller of the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce.Serving one's country is a huge responsibility, but Sergeant Stephens believes it falls on all of us.
"Recruiting for the United States Army is a responsibility of all Americans," said Sergeant Stephens. If the announcement was any indication, their job may get a little easier.
