Sioux City Camp to get New Archery Shelter

It was announced Thursday morning: a new archery shelter is on the way to Camp High Hopes in Sioux City.

The 24 X 50 ft. shelter will even have an enclosed storage area.

Together the Ronald McDonald House of Siouxland and the Home Builders Association of Greater Siouxland donated $10,000 to the project.

The new shelter will be built by volunteers also be built by volunteers.

It's a great way for campers to have fun all year long.

"To be able to shoot an arrow at a target gives you such a boost of self esteem and such a sense of success," said Camp High Hopes Executive Director Ali Langseth at a press conference Thursday. "That's why it's one of the favorite activities here at Camp High Hopes."

Camp High Hopes helps children and adults with disabilities and chronic illness.

The new shelter should be finished sometime during the summer of 2013.
