South Sioux City Hosts Specialty Dog Show
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE —
Four legged friends are hoping to take the title of "Top Dog" in South Sioux City.
The American Belgian Tervuren Club is in town for its national specialty show.
Dogs and trainers from across the country take on obstacles, jumps and tunnels in an agility competition, and showcase obedience and presentation.
It takes years of training to turn pups into top-notch competitors.
"It's really about teamwork and working with your dog, and you start communicating not just in verbal ways, but...in all the training that you do, the dog develops an understanding, and it's just a lot of fun," said Julie Hill of Mandeville, Louisiana.
The event continues through this Saturday at Scenic Park and the Marina Center in South Sioux, and spectators are welcome.
