Speed Cameras Coming Back
SIOUX CITY, IA — A Woodbury County judge says Sioux City police can continue to operate 4 traffic cameras on state highways until a hearing next month. In that order the judge prohibited the Iowa DOT from enforcing its order to remove the cameras. The cameras will stay operating until at least May 11th, when the City and DOT will appear in court to argue over the city's request for a permanent injunction. Sioux City Police will turn back on two red-light cameras at the corner of Lewis Boulevard and Outer Drive at one minute past midnight on Tuesday. At the same time, the two mobile speed camera trailers will return to the road shoulders along I-29.
