In Sioux City, Auditor Pat Gill said there was a spike in absentee ballots for Tuesday's election but that the flow of voters into the new election centers was pretty slow."A little over 1,500 people have chose to vote by mail this time around, which was pleasing. We've never had that kind of response to the absentee before so that's a good thing," said Gill. Voters who did go to the polls may have also noticed a new option to scan their licenses for a quicker registration.
Officials estimate about 8,500 people voted in Tuesday's Sioux City School Board Elections.
