Yankton Murder Suspect Wants to Represent Himself
YANKTON, SD — 28-year-old Joshua Hudson is accused of killing his uncle Todd Hudson with a hammer before leading police on a high speed chase through Iowa and South Dakota in his uncle's truck. Hudson told his state appointed attorney that he would like to represent himself in court. The court ordered that Hudson be evaluated to determine if he was mentally capable of representing himself. The first evaluation came back saying Hudson wasn't competent to understand the charges against him or their severity. The state has requested a second opinion, and the court will evaluate that one on July 21.
