Washington D.C. —
Siouxland's Jefferson Awards recipient is sharing his inspirational story in Washington, D.C.
Kevin Negaard was among the local Jefferson Award winners invited to a gala dinner and award ceremony in Washington, DC. He's the man behind the "Miracle League of Sioux City and Miracle Field in Riverside Park," a place where kids of all abilities can come together to play. He shared with the audience the process of building the park.
"With excellence and integration as our core values, and bringing smiles to the faces of the kids with disabilities and their families as our goal, I began the journey to raise $500,000 to build a rubber-surface baseball field for kids with disabilities. Less than three years later, we stand here with a 1.6 million dollar complex," said Neegarrd
Negaard's nomination and recognition as a local Jefferson Awards recipient was made possible through our partnership with Siouxland Federal Credit Union.
