This may be a bit of a stretch, but stretching actually is a great routine to relax your mind and body. Stretching relieves tension in the body and mind. And there are basically two types of stretches, static and dynamic.
A static stretch encompasses adopting and holding a position while dynamic stretches involve controlled movements of joints and muscles. Experts recommend dynamic stretching before a workout to increase blood flow to muscles and prepare joints for activity. Static stretching increases overall flexibility and lengthens tight muscles, which is great after a workout.
Both types of stretching offer worthwhile benefits including better posture and decreased risk of injury. So to stretch a point, stretch off the years today.
