Congressman King optimistic about meeting with President Trump and North Korea leader
SIOUX CITY, Ia —
Iowa's Fourth district Congressman Steve King is optimistic a meeting between President Trump and North Korea's leader could lead to a positive outcome.
A 70-year standoff between the two nations could end if that meeting takes place at a time that's still to be determined.
King tells Siouxland News the president's style of negotiations and business background may pay off in the long run.
"I have long asked for a president that would play brinksmanship and who also was an enigma. And if your not willing to go to the brink and make them wonder whether you are going to go past that line or not, you're predictable and you'll always be manipulated in these negotiations," King said.
