Couple charged with Winnebago man's murder indicted on more serious charges
WINNEBAGO, Ne —
The Winnebago, Nebraska couple charged with killing a man outside the Ho- Chunk, Incorporated Headquarters last month have been indicted on more serious charges.
19- year- old Jeremiah Wolfe and 21- Year- Old Lawrencia Merrick were originally charged with Manslaughter, but have now been indicted on a charge of 2nd degree murder.
Additionally, Wolfe's mother is facing a charge of accessory after the fact.
Court documents allege Wolfe and Merrick killed 32- year- old William Redhorn Junior on April 23rd outside the Ho-Chunk Inc. headquarters building.
Text messages released last week with the initial manslaughter charge reveal that the two delayed reporting the incident in order to talk to a lawyer and "get their stories straight."
When speaking to an officer later that day, they claimed they were trying to stop Redhorn from breaking into the building.
An arraignment for the couple is set for Monday at 11:00 A.M. in Omaha.
