Driver involved in deadly Omaha car crash deported 7 times

Authorities say a drunk driver involved in a fiery, deadly crash in Omaha last week had been deported 7 times before the accident.

Prosecutors say 30-year-old Nemias Garcia-Velasco was three times over the legal blood alcohol limit, and was driving more than 100 miles an hour when his car crossed three lanes of the interstate. He hit a guard tail, rolled, and burst into flames. Velasco and a front seat passenger suffered severe burns, but a man in the back seat died.

Velasco has been charged with motor vehicle homicide and could face up to 20 years in prison.
