End date on horizon for LEC expansion

It's a project that's been in the works for quite some time, but now the Law Enforcement Center expansion project has a potential end date.

Final design plans are still being drawn and discussed by the building directors and sheriffs office, but a contractor will be selected this summer, with the extensive project wrapping up next spring.

"We'll award the bids to the lowest responsible bidder, and that will take a series of months until we anticipate May of 2018. We've taken lessons from the recent tragedy over in Council Bluffs on how we can make this absolutely the safest area and one that's effective and efficient," says Jeremy Taylor, from the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors.

With a May completion, this project lines up with the centennial celebration of the Woodbury County Court House.
