Governor candidate Boulton makes a stop in Sioux City at a local recovery center
One of the Democrats running against Governor Reynolds in this year's election made a stop in Sioux City this afternoon.
State Senator Nate Boulton of Des Moines visited Jackson Recovery Centers this afternoon to talk about substance abuse issues facing Iowans.
Boulton says there are several threats to the services mental health facilities provide.
"And now we're seeing facilities like this struggle with medicaid privatization. People need to be speaking up, making sure that their senators and representatives and their elected officials know, these are priorities and really essential to our quality of life in Iowa."
Boulton says if the state does not expand its services and resources for mental health, there will be more problems.
