Hog barn damaged in fire
Plymouth County, IA —
A hog barn for feeder pigs in rural Plymouth County suffered heavy damage after a fire this morning.
That fire, about four miles southwest of Merrill, was reported just after 7 o'clock Tuesday morning.
When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the barn.
There were 2,600 young pigs inside at the time, but they all survived and were moved to a different building.
The fire is suspected to have started in the ceiling of the building, doing considerable damage.
Crews from Merrill, Hinton, and Le Mars all contributed to putting out that fire.
