IA Gov. candidate, Dr. Andy McGuire, stops in Siouxland
SIOUX CITY, Ia —
A candidate for Iowa Governor made a stop in Sioux City Friday.
Doctor Andy McGuire toured the Siouxland Community Health Center and the Jackson Recovery Center during her visit.
These tours are part of McGuire's 7-point plan to combat the state's mental health and substance abuse crisis.
"Our governor right now is putting profits ahead of people, and as a physician and someone's who's been involved in healthcare my whole life, I always put patients first, that's an oath I took, to put patients first. So I will always put people first, as your governor, and I think we need someone who is willing to stand up for people," said Dr. McGuire.
The Democratic candidate and Waterloo, Iowa native spoke with medical providers at both stops about the issues healthcare providers in Iowa face.
