UPDATE: Dakota Dunes homeowner arrested for drug possession Tuesday night

AUGUST 23, 2017 at 9:00 P.M.:

At this hour, we now know the initial charge against the Dakota Dunes homeowner.

Union County Sheriff deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of La Costa Lane shortly after 9:30 Tuesday night.

A 911 caller initially said someone had been shot.

When deputies arrived they did not find anyone injured and it was determined no shooting had taken place.

Instead, we're told that deputies did find what's being called "illegal activity."

We've called Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges numerous times to clarify what the illegal activity was but he deferred us to the South Dakota state's attorneys office.

The sheriff would only confirmed that a 68-year-old man was taken into custody and would not specify under what charges.

We've since found out that Union County deed records list the home as owned by a Roger F. Miller.

The Union County jail did confirm a Roger Miller is in custody and being held on $10,000 bond.

This afternoon, the South Dakota Attorney General's Office told us Miller is currently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

A 68-year-old man is under arrest after "illegal activity" in a home in Dakota Dunes Tuesday night.

At about 9:30 PM Tuesday, Union County Dispatch got an anonymous call, claiming a man had been shot at a residence off of LaCosta Lane in Dakota Dunes.

Once Union County authorities got to the house and went inside, they found the anonymous call had been incorrect and no one was shot.

After investigating, however, authorities did find "illegal activity" happening inside the house.

A 68-year-old man was taken into custody.

His name, along with the nature of the "illegal activity," hasn't been released.
