Indoor tennis facility plans for South Sioux City are moving forward

A planned indoor tennis facility in South Sioux City is moving forward.

The Siouxland Tennis Association is spearheading the construction of that facility, which will be located in South Sioux City's Scenic Park.

It will include not just tennis courts, but an indoor soccer facility as well.

President of the Siouxland Tennis Association, Wes Michaelson said, "We are going to launch phase one and that will be two courts. If we're even more successful, we'll be lauching phase one with three courts. We don't have a date we can give yet, but that may be coming very soon. "

Michaelson says the State of Nebraska has contributed a $363,000 grant to the project, which has raised about half of its fundraising goal of $1.5 million.
