Jackson Recovery is moving substance abuse treatment program to accommodate more patients

Sioux City's Jackson Recovery Centers are making some changes to their programs.

Jackson Recovery is moving a substance abuse treatment program for women from Cherokee to its facility on West 4th St. in Sioux City. This will increase the number of beds in that program from 11 to 18. That will free up space in Cherokee to expand the men's treatment program from 11 to 22 beds.

"There continues to be stigma associated with addiction and psychiatric conditions and we need our community to be aware in Siouxland that it's okay to get help for addiction and psychiatric conditions. We know that more individuals are in need of this care we are very pleased to adjust our capacity to respond to the community needs," said Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Heidi Kammer-Hodge.

The new treatment area opened today with Jackson expecting 10 patients to arrive for treatment.
