King Theater Project Gets State Grant

The project to restore a historic theater in Downtown Ida Grove is getting a little help from the state of Iowa.

The Enhance Iowa Board awarded the King Theater Renovation Project a $62,000 "Community Attraction and Tourism" grant.

Their application said the money would go towards expanding the theater's lobby, adding handicap-accessible restrooms and re-designing the ticket taking and concession areas of the theater.

The project's leaders say they hope to have the nearly half-million-dollar project done by January.
