Man arrested in overnight burglary wanted for kidnapping and assault in Kansas

A Kansas man was is in the Woodbury County Jail tonight after an early morning burglary at a business.

Sioux City Police responded to a burglary at 1800 11th Street where a Sutter truck had been stolen from the lot and driven through the business's fence.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the 700 block of Cook Street but the vehicle fled from authorities for several miles before running into a fire hydrant at 14th and Ingleside.

The driver fled on foot and was apprehended by police a short time later.

The driver, 45-year-old Christopher Aunquoe of Wichita, Kansas, was arrested and is facing a dozen charges including 3rd Degree Burglary, theft, felony eluding.

Aunqoue also has parole warrants out of Kansas for Kidnapping, Robbery and Aggravated Assault.

He is being held without bond in the Woodbury County Jail.
