Nearly 500 women attend 3rd Annual Siouxland Women's Leadership Conference
Nearly 500 women came together this morning for the 3rd Annual Siouxland Women's Leadership Conference.
Held a the Sioux City Convention Center, this conference brought together Siouxland women of all ages in an effort to build leadership skills, exchange ideas and hear from multiple speakers.
The conference was hosted by the Iowa Women Lead Change who hope to empower and inspire women from all walks of life.
"The statistics tell us that there are not enough women in leadership positions in corporate America and in the non-profit sector and in the community. So this gives women a chance to listen to way that they can expand their network, improve on their professional performance, and really learn about what out there for them as far as personal leadership development opportunities," said IWLC Regional Manager Bobbi Segura.
More than 100 students were at todays event which included speakers like Carey Lohrenz who was the first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy.
