North High School student arrested
Sioux City, Ia —
A North High School student was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with aggravated assault, disorderly and criminal trespassing.
Court documents say that Mathew Riling, 18, was supposed to be in a behavior disorder class at North High, but refused to go to class.
Rilling was found roaming the halls by a teacher and asked an officer for assistance after the student refused to comply.
Documents further state that Rilling pulled a knife out of his pocket and opened the blade as he walked towards the officer.
The officer pulled out his taser and told the student to drop the knife and get on the ground.
Rilling then threw the knife and got on the ground.
Riling was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, disorderly and criminal trespassing.
He is currently in the Woodbury County Jail on a $5,000 bond with a court date scheduled for November 27th.
