Northwestern College begins construction on new multi-million dollar science building
ORANGE CITY, Ia —
A Siouxland college has begun construction on a new multi-million dollar facility.
Northwestern College in Orange City broke ground on its new Natural and Health Sciences building.
It's a project that's been in the works since 2014, costing the school $24.5 million dollars.
With all the people attending, Northwestern's president says this is the largest group on hand for a ground breaking.
"It just goes to show the excitement that we've had for this project, the sacrificial giving people have been willing to make tremendous sacrifices and it's just so heartwarming," said president Greg Christy.
Christy says they still hadn't reached their goal of $24.5 million just two days before but as of today, they exceeded their goal, fundraising roughly $24.7 million dollars.
The building is expected to be done in August of 2018.
