Sioux City Police say County Attorney now looking in to North High bullying incident
SIOUX CITY, Ia —
Yesterday, we brought you the story of a North High student dealing with a bullying issue and the response of local lawmakers.
Today, we spoke with the Sioux City Police Department about the issue.
We learned that the Police Department and the school district have reviewed the case and referred it to the county attorney.
"What I can tell you is that as long as there's going to be social media, there's going to be cyber bullying, bullying in general. Being a parent, I make sure that I do what I can to safeguard my children. They're in the schools here. I feel like they're safe in the schools here. But as a parent, I do what I can, not just a police officer. I hope obviously, more parents step up to prevent that," said Sioux City Police Sergeant Tery Ivener.
Now that the case is in the hands of the county attorney, his office will decide whether to bring charges against any of the students involved in the case.
