Road crews prepare for winter conditions
Sioux City crews are getting a head start with snow conditions coming to Siouxland overnight.
About 50 pieces of equipment including plows, and salt trucks are set to take the streets once the storm hits.
Crews will be putting out sand and salt on Priority 1 roads, where drivers travel most.
The city's Street Division superintendent reminds drivers to give plow trucks plenty of space.
"Once those are taken care of then we'll go to our secondary roads and also go into the neighborhoods, you know the, streets that don't go near the traffic, trying to keep the main roads open first," said Ed Pickens.
