South Sioux City Mayor talks re-election bid

South Sioux City Mayor talks re-election bid

South Sioux City is holding a mayoral election next month and today the incumbent spoke about his goals to a lunch meeting at the Cardinal Conference Center.

"It's an honor to be the mayor of South Sioux City and serve the citizens, I think South Sioux City is a very progressive community and we have a great city council and we're setting ourselves up for success in the future and I'd just like to continue to be a part of that," Mayor Rod Koch told us.

Koch said housing and economic development are his main focuses, and he's looking to build 800 houses in South Sioux City in cooperation with the Winnebago Tribe's Ho Chunk, Inc.

Coming up Tuesday, April 17th on Siouxland News, we'll hear from Koch's opponent in the Mayor's race, South Sioux City businessman Jose Lupe Gonzalez.
