Standoff in Le Mars puts four in custody

Four people are in custody including three Sioux City teens after a standoff overnight in Le Mars.

The Le Mars police department says 21 year old Victor Villarreal of Le Mars is charged with felony possession of an offensive weapon and 2 counts of possession of stolen firearms after the SRT team had to force entry into his house just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

That standoff began after police were called following an incident where a man says three people threatened him with a gun just after 10 p.m. Monday.

Officers found those three people and watched them enter Villarreal's home but nobody would come to the door when officers first approached.

Police say the three teens arrested are all from Sioux City and two of them are listed as missing persons.
